What Is Keeping Price Transparency From Becoming A Reality?
The Catalyst for Payment Reform (CPR) and the Health Care Incentives Improvement Institute (HCI3) recently released their 2014 Report Card on State PriceTransparency Laws. Despite a bit of controversy, CPR and HCI3 elected to take a closer look at the price information directly available to consumers via state-sanctioned websites and did not grade on a curve. The results were not positive. Forty-five states received an F when it came to monitoring health provider pricing. Clearly there is more both the public and private sector can be doing to support consumers as they search for both price and quality information
On May 20th, CPR will host a half-day webinar-based summit to take a closer look at the grades, and answer important questions including:
- How do consumers understand price, quality and value?
- What information and which tools help them be informed shoppers?
- What are the best sources for cost and quality data?
- What can the public and private sector learn from one another?
I hope you will consider joining this half-day discussion. Registration is now open.
